“VS” (2011) - Trailer
The Indie scene isn’t done with making more real-life superhero movies. Last year delivered the trio of Kick-Ass, Super and Defendor, and now we have VS.
Starring Lucas Till and James Remar—who ironically also starred together in X-Men: First Class—we have a new take on the real-life superhero. Instead of the traditional good guy vs. bad guy, there’s a bit of a twist in that VS combines elements of the SAW franchise. Also of note is that minus the 80’s synth track, this trailer feels very similar to the exploitation film, Hobo With a Shotgun.
District Posters For The Hunger Games
With the film adaptation of the hit young adult novel series The Hunger Games on its way to theatres next March 23rd, five district posters have been released as part of the first film’s marketing campaign.
The districts are as follows: 2, 7, 8, 9 and 12, with each district representing a different resource that they specialize in.
For those unfamiliar with what the book series is about below is the complete synopsis:
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Avengers Cast Portraits Released
Not had enough goodness from Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive Avengers images?
Then have some odd little character portraits too!
Admittedly, they do look better separate than the botched together cover of this week’s EW, though.
There’s further details at the source, where the cast speak briefly about their characters, and how they all relate to each other as members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
“The Human Centipede Part 2” (2011) Trailer
As if the first Human Centipede film wasn’t graphic and horrific enough, a sequel was made. In the context of the plot for this film, this is more of a pseudo sequel in that the first film really was just a film in Part 2’s universe.
Part 2 revolves around a deranged and mentally ill man named Martin, who becomes obsessed with actually completely a Human Centipede with not just three people, but twelve.
Speaking for myself, torture porn film’s like this don’t do anything for me, so I won’t be checking it out. But I know there’s enough people interested who will watch it.
Entertainment Weekly’s “Avengers” Cover; First Official Set Images
This week’s EW cover unites 6 superheroes — Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye, Captain America and The Incredible Hulk — who mainly make up The Avengers team in next year’s film with the same name.
The issue — which provides an in-depth preview of The Avengers — provides a few first look at official set images from the film, which can be seen after the break.
In Time (2011) - Trailer
Directed by: Andrew Nicol
Stars: Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy, Olivia Wilde, Alex PettyferPlot Summary: In the future people stop aging at 25 and must work to buy themselves more time, but when a young man finds himself with more time than he can imagine he must run from the corrupt police force to save his life. [IMDB]
For some reason, when I watch this trailer I get vibes of Equilibrium (2002) and Surrogates (2009). Not that they have similar subject material, but the way the films are set up — a futuristic, utopian society-ish feel with someone threatening to toss out that delicate balance. I do have to say that this does look interesting despite the overly attractive cast that inhabits this film. Sci-fi films always interest me and it’ll be interesting to see if Hollywood can sell me on Justin Timberlake as an action star.
The film hits theatres October 27, 2011.
Marvel Releases New Avengers Promo Image
Slowly but surely, Marvel is adding fuel to the hype machine fire for Joss Whedon’s upcoming The Avengers film, post-Summer blockbusters. Today they released a new promo art consisting of the film’s main cast of heroes.
Expect plenty more, especially when we get closer to The Avengers’ May 4, 2012 release date.
Oh god. I think I just fangasmed all over the place.

The first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games has been released. For the most part it really isn’t anything special. We’re only treated to a scene of Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men: First Class), running through the forest presumably during the early portion of the Hunger Games.
Be on the lookout when it hits theatres March 23rd, 2012.
With Gabe prattling on in the background. Not excited by the teaser. I NEED A FULL TRAILER TO BE EXCITED ABOUT.
